Promotional Pens – Giving Away Fountain Pens

Fountain pens are essentially the oldest type of pen that we have, without including quills. Fountain pens are very nice pens that work by putting ink inside the pen and it flows down to the tip of the pen where you can write. While these pens can be a pain to use, they are highly-sought after as collectible pens and for people who want to write in an old-fashioned manner. This also presents some great opportunities for you as a business because you can give away promotional pens, fountain pens to be more specific, in order to win customers.
Think of it this way. You can probably give away ten ballpoint pens for the same price that one fountain pen will cost you. While many of the customers will appreciate the pen you gave them, how many are actually going to use the ballpoint pen? It will probably just end up in a jar or a drawer, or pass through a number of hands over its life. When a lot of people see the ballpoint pen, that can help you get exposure, but a fountain pen is just better.
This is what you need to do to win customers and their loyalty with promotional fountain pens.
1. Compile a list of your 20 best customers. These are the customers who are the ones that not only buy the most from you, but which come into the store the most often. It is important to remember this because one customer may spend $1,000 once, but another customer may spend $20 over the course of 20 visits. The second customer spends less, but they come by more and deserve to be rewarded as a result.
2. Once you have your list, have the fountain pens designed with the names of the customers on them. Each pen will be personalized for the customer with your company name and phone number on the pen. Also put “Thanks for your business” on the pen.
3. Call the customers and tell them that you have a gift for them, or provide the customers with the pens when they visit. Tell them you wanted to thank them for their business and that you hope they continue to come in for many years to come.
That’s all there is too using promotional fountain pens as a way to get customers into your business and keep them loyal.
